Post subject:  [Feedback] Nightclub, Night Life community

Hello,

I am looking for some feedback on a site that I've been working on. www.hotclubforums.com is a new online source to your ultimate after dark party life! Hardcore club-goers and party animals will enjoy a community built around the nightlife scene. HotClubForums.com will provide visitors with instant access to the hottest clubs around, the up to date happenings in your town, and the ultimate internet party life that will bring you and thousands of other unique party people together.

Currently, the site has been hosted on 100webspace for a little over a year now, but has not fully launched, which is due in Fall 2006. Suggestions that I don't need feeback on is the member count/activity, again the site hasn't fully launched, and I haven't done any real advertisement yet. I have not added any club venues to the database yet. Plans for that will be very late summer 2006 right before launch time.

Plans for next month include:
site promotion
new icons to match the site's theme
changing some of the "Club Network" forums
adding more nightlife related content

Known issues:
Flash intro is not centered correctly when browsing with IE. I'm a firefox user, but I am aware that a lot of people still use internet explorer. It would be great if anyone knew how I can fix it to center correctly when using IE.

Thank you in advanced for your feedback and time. :)

I love the flash Intro, except center it because I am on a widescreen laptop and it is to the left ;)

Maybe try changing the portal up a bit, it seems.... too plain.

Thanks for the feedback. Are you using IE? When you view the flash intro in IE it's plays in the left corner :? When using firefox, it's centered. I have a widescreen laptop, and it appears centered with firefox. I'm trying to figure out how to fix it in IE. Good point about the portal, it does need some work. It's not going to be there in a few months, but I should at least touch it up while I still have it.

Thanks again.

No problem, and I am using FireFox, version 1.5.0.4 and it appears to the left (Laptop resolution is 1280x800)

I see what you mean. I changed the resolution on my PC and noticed the same thing. I've gotta get this worked out.

Try this, I do this when I do Coming Soon pages, add this to the CSS: body { margin-top: 5%; margin-left: 5%; margin-right: 5%; } and add this right after the body tag <div align="center"> and close it off right at the end of the body tag :)

There isn't a css body. There is only the html file which you are viewing you you click the link then there is the swf file. Try this and tell me if it's centered

http://hotclubforums.com/HotClubForums.swf

The only problem with the swf is I can't meta tag it, and the browser description doesn't show how I want it to.

The SWF file is centered, add the CSS to the <head> of your index file:
Code:
<Style type="text/css">
<!--
body { margin-top: 5%; margin-left: 5%; margin-right: 5%; text-align: center }
-->
</style>

Hey, check it out now! It looks better, but do you have any idea how I can place it in the middle? Looks like it's more at the top now then before.
