Alright, here's my website:
http://johrod70.freecoolsite.com (or) http://roddyinnovations.co.nr

I've been screwing around with the design every day trying to improve it more. Most recently, I added a new banner, and split the portal from the header (banner and menu buttons). What do you think?

That's psychotic for ya ^^. But he is usually right.

Anyway.. one remark on psychotic.
The validator does work but with a different encoding. ISO-8859-1 encoding did the job for me, but the site still has 37 errors.

Ah! You see, I had a very poor site before this. When I decided it was time for change, I worked with the original scripting and improved it. Believe me, had you validated it in version 1, almost every line would have an error. Not to mention, the green on blue didn't give that good of a look. I'm working on improving it constantly. As for the validation, I guess I used HTML that is acceptable, but not prolonged for constant use. Therefore, CSS is the option. I used to have 3 short stylesheets, but I now have only 1 medium-length one. I've also updated several of the images. An example would be the background for the news titles. I've created a new image that's a 1px wide repeating gradient. It will load MUCH faster, I've just been too lazy to add it in. Sorry. All the problems on that site are due to my being too lazy to fix them. It's time for me to get my act together and fix them. I'll do it tomorrow.

ALRIGHT! There you go! I fixed EVERY LITTLE problem with the site. It's now 100% XHTML valid. I was given the option of putting the little taggy on :) . So now that that's done, what else is there to improve?

Greetings :D

I love the site! :D Now, let me start commenting and suggesting on it.

1. I see it is now valid XHTML
http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fjohrod70.freecoolsite.com%2Findex.php%3Fpage%3Dtemplates&charset=iso-8859-1&doctype=Inline&verbose=1 wrote:
Result: Passed validation

Modified: (undefined)
Server: Apache/1.3.33 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.8.22 OpenSSL/0.9.7d VDB/1.1.1
Size: 9794
Content-Type: text/html
Encoding: iso-8859-1
Doctype: XHTML 1.0 Transitional
Root Namespace: http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml

2. You should span the background 100% down. So no matter how high your monitor is, it will auto adjust and fit :D
3. For you 'Contact' page, create a contact form. :D And then also, show the additional information at the bottom. (This is only if you are on paid hosting only - if so, then I suggest the phpMail Class. Search Google or SourceForge for it.)
4. Create some border type images, or just use regular CSS for around your tables.

Thats all I am going to comment on at the moment.

Border-type images? You mean for the middle part, right? I used to have a cool background in there. I need something like that again.

Welp, things are looking good for the website contest :). Now, for that border, black is the only color that I could get to go with my design. Perhaps if I had a border surrounding the center area of the portal like on DarkGamer. Would that improve it?

Greetings,

Yes somewhat. But you must create it to suit your site though.
