Hi, could you help me?

I've just installed phpBB and keep getting the following warnings:

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/www/baszoda.webpal.info/web/includes/constants.php:604) in /home/www/baszoda.webpal.info/web/includes/functions.php on line 367

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/www/baszoda.webpal.info/web/includes/constants.php:604) in /home/www/baszoda.webpal.info/web/includes/page_header.php on line 2137

...etc. (There's a lot more)

First I thought it was because of the banner ads, so I purchased the no banner packege, but nothing changed....

Any ideas?

The website is http://baszoda.webpal.info/web

Ok
Here is what to do.

1. Go to www.phpbb.com/downloads.php, download the latest software.
2. Extract, and Save the directories to your computer HDD in 1 directory.
3. Upload that directory to your server / account via FTP.
4. After uploading, create your database, make sure there is nothing in your database (make a new one in the control panel).
5. Go and change the CHMOD of the config.php file to 666.
6. Run the installation process - /phpbbroot/install/install.php file.
7. Change the Config CHMOD back to 644.
8. Delete the install and contrib directory.
9. Log in, and you are done! :D

Now if you are more of an advanced user, you can easily do this. If you have anymore questions, you can contact me. If you would like me to install it for you, I would be more then happy to install phpBB Forums for you! If you have any questions about me installing them, you can contact me via PM or my website - www.thetechbase.com.

Login as admin to your forum, you will then be transferred to the control panel probably. However if you type the address of your forum in the address bar of your browser you will see that you have been logged in successfuly.

Go to the Administration panel and make sure that the Script path is set correctly. Also make sure that the Internet port is set to 80.

What he is saying he can not get into the administration panel. So, you will have to make sure the correct configuration settings are implemented and you will have to do this through PMA.

PMA = PHPMyAdmin

You will have to get to it through your control panel on ur server.

Hey,

Just to double check you have all the files for your phpBB2 forums still uploaded correct? Well if YES, Follow these steps:

1 - Go to your PMA
2 - click your database, let the tables load
3 - click phpbb_config
4 - Now push Browse
5 - Make sure your COOKIE path is set to your phpBB2 path

Hi! I set up a free account here a while back, and I recently installed PHPbb version 2.14. I have absolutely no problems with it, except for the login script. Whenever I click "log in", it hangs at "connecting to coconia.net", and brings up a dialog box telling me the operstion is timed out. :?

I already asked the people at the PHPbb support forums, and they told me toask here. Any help is appreciated.

If it makes any difference, I have a dot.tk name that redirects you to the site. Also, there is no http:// before coconia.net as my server name in the PHPbb Admin panel.

BTW: posting and viewing are all normal.

On second thought, skroo it. I'll just set up an ezforum.org forum instead. I was just looking for forum hosting, w/o installing mods or anything like that.

Don't worry, I'll still use 100webspace for my webpage! :D (once I make the html stuff in Frontpage.)

For any of you who have really bad problems you can't figure out:

www.ezforums.org FREE PHPbb hosting

DO NOT USE www.phpbbforfree.com !!! Unless youwant singles ads EVERYWHERE!

The problem is probably caused by the fact that you have set the server port to 3306. Change it to 80.

I did, and it stopped working.

The MyPHP database configuration told me to use 3306, or whatever it is.

404 NOT FOUND.

OK, first http://bicostp.coconia.net/phpBB2/index.php seems to be working fine, I am able to access it. As to the port that I told you to change, this is to be changed from the Administration Panel>Forum>Configuration

OK, having a weird problem with phpBB. I downloaded the newest version of it and it is still quite aggravating.
This is what happens:

1. I go to http://thepress.webpal.info/phpbb2/phpB ... nstall.php. So far so good.

2. I fill in the tables in the install form on install.php

3. I click the "Start Install" button.
Uh-oh Billy! Error message!

4. The error message:

Warning: mysql_connect(): Access denied for user: 'thepress@webpal.info' (Using password: YES) in /home/www/thepress.webpal.info/phpbb2/phpBB2/db/mysql4.php on line 48

Warning: mysql_error(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /home/www/thepress.webpal.info/phpbb2/phpBB2/db/mysql4.php on line 330

Warning: mysql_errno(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /home/www/thepress.webpal.info/phpbb2/phpBB2/db/mysql4.php on line 331

phpBB : Critical Error:
Could not connect to the database

Please, please help me with this. I have no idea what is going on. I have not changed any files at all.

After all the installation woes, I finally got it working.

Domain: [your subdomain].[your domain.whatever]
(in my case, bicostp.coconia.net)

Port: 80

I figured out the real problem: I had the domain set to coconia.net, without my subdomain name.

Just something to look out for after you get PHPbb installed. :)

Hi,
I'm just experimenting with phpBB. I'm getting a DB connection error when trying to install phpBB. Here are the settings I'm using:
Quote:
Default board language: English
Database Type: MySQL 3.x (also tried MySQL 4.x)
Choose your installation method: Install

Database Configuration
Database Server Hostname / DSN: webpal.info
Your Database Name: quimbly_mysql
Database Username: quimbly (not sure what to use here)
Database Password: ***
Prefix for tables in database: phpbb_

Admin Configuration
Admin Email Address: ***
Domain Name: quimbly.webpal.info
Server Port: 80
Script path: /forum/
Administrator Username: Quimbly
Administrator Password: ***
Administrator Password [ Confirm ]: ***

See anything wrong with the settings I'm using? How about the username? What do I use?

Thanks[/code]

Ahh, I just needed to make sure the Database name and Datbase username were the same. Installation worked after that...

I installed the boards fine and everything but when I go to login or go to the admin panel it asks me to download login.php ?? Is there something I can do to stop this?

Here is what shoud do: after you try to login you will get the download window, cancel it and go to the forum, you will see that you are logged in actually. Then go to the administration panel and from the forum configuration change the server port to 80.

it does the samething when I go to Admin Control Pannel... i click on it, hit cancel and nothing happens... maybe I should try to reinstall it with the port 80 instead of 3306?

Hi there,

can you advice me which statistic mod for phpbb2 i can use which is quite easy to install ? I want a button on my forum that show the user hits and statistics. I know there are a couple of mods but installing them freaks me out as i'm worried i'm gonna mess up my well working forum :)

Thanx in advance,

Thijs
