Hello, ive been working at a few forums and hosting places, I saw
you established a forum so I came by to check it out, to my horror I saw phpBB... out of all forums!!!

phpBB has the largest security holes and exploits, many forums have been hacked easily!

If you care a bit about the forum switch it.
good forums could be
IPB (http://www.ipbforum.com/)
and
SMF (http://www.simplemachines.org/)

hope you take it into consideration!!!

I'm used to phpBB. And the forums have been hacked easily because mainly people don't know how to update and such as usual.

The phpBB team is great at what they do. and phpBB forums have so many extra features to add on.

If you have something equal ,or greater, to phpBB in usability, setup, addons and such, then show me.

the two forums I mentioned above are way better then phbb,
Ive seen them both, I like the SMF control panel like OMG! but IPB is the most secure and looks much better :O

The Simple Machines one looks good. Gives me more of a feel of phpBB.

The other one looks like crap and it only allows you to sign up for one thing at a time.

But the question is, which one is easier to set up, use, and configure?

And you might want to edit that post. Bad spelling shows shame on your company.

No problem. Just trying to help the best free webhost I ever had.

I'm soon going to get a paid one. Don't know which. Time to ask here in the forums!

I still love my phpBB. Easy to set up.

I'm a phpBB fan boy if I may say so.

I'd like to mention I'm not one of the forums that are set up and I sign up and they give me the forums and there I go. I actually install my own and everything.

EDIT

Although, I might try IPB or something.

I have been checking out ipb vbulliten and I have to say that there are alot more options built into these than php has. Also the attachment mod in php is a bit hard to install while ipb already has this and much more as default. I have been thinking of looking into this 8)

I prefer phpBB over anything. Mainly cause I'm so used to it and it's so simple to use.

Whatever that forum is where if you get a login incorrect 3 times and you can't login for some amount of time, I hate that one. So annoying.

There are many pros and cons for using any of the forums mention. We will probably sick to the phpBB because it is a very known one and it is really easy to use.

If you're going to paid subscriptions, you shouldn't think twice. vBulletin is certainly the best.

The reason phpBB is better is that a. the phpBB Group releases security fixes ASAP. b. the initial spartan but useful feature set. c. the ease of installing the mods. c. Large FREE mod database. d. Friendlier userbase.

Now for the ATTACHMENT MOD. Easymod Download Area on AREA51.phpbb.com

I installed the Attachment mod via Easymod and it was simple.

let me ask you this,
WHY are they getting security fixed out fast? to patch up so many holes... they havent even got to the 1/3 point yet. just buy something thats going to be secure for ever :)
