 Post subject: how to recreate this image?

Wonder what software I need to re-create or do something similar for this image. It's copy-writed. Can't down load or copy it. It's the fading affect of the colors I would like to do. Can't afford photoshop or other expensive programs.

The file that you put in the IMG tag must be an image, it won't work with an html file. Also keep in mind that if you are on the free plan you won't be able to show the image because hotlinking is not allowed on the free hosting plans. Just post a link to the image instead.

If this doesn't work I don't know what to do. my subdomain name follows the http:// images is the folder where its located. bg_sidebar.jpg is the image name. I know I uploaded the image to the server under images folder.

How could I be trying to hotlink? I have an account with 100webspace. I have the personal account with the paid for no ads for a year. I'm obviously not doing something correctly but don't know what to change to get the image seen. Appreciate peoples help.

should work..

I don't know what free/cheap software packages are out there, which you can do this with.
But maybe you can try to get a tryout edition of photoshop or something similiar.

thanks for everyones's help. I'll look into gimp. Wish I knew how Revaroo was able to show the image. What was I doing wrong. Thanks Robin
