Website made entirely out of flash? Erm... That is a real web design no-no. Have a read of
this to avoid a lot of beginners' mistakes in future.
As it is: too many badly blended gradients with no coherant colour scheme; random sizing between pages; too large and incoherant typography (fonts); the navigation is clunky, overly bulky and oppresive; the contact page doesn't work etc etc ad infinitum.
I agree that you should start over with a clear grasp of what makes a good site. A few things to look out for:
Portability - having it work everywhere - can your webpage be viewed in a text-only browser and still have it make sense?
Clear, clean design - an orderly look without random flashy things you thought might look good at the time and stuck into the design for good measure.
I wont add more to that at the moment, since you should learn the basics before getting into the other important parts of a good website. Most importantly - learn HTML and use it. Flash has a purpose, and that is web applications and games, NOT WEBSITES.
That article was well said, I agree with it 100% and I thank you for posting the link to it, I agree on the aspects of Open Source messing with PHP beginners learning, I know people that have asked for my help installing programs, have a web site, and yet have no idea how to use FTP... Open source is a great way to start and compare your scripts, but sometimes some people take it and never try to actually understand what they are using.
