Post subject:  Q&A: Dedicated IP addresses

1 ) What is an IP?
The Internet Protocol address or IP Address is a numerical identifier for a computer (server) attached to the internet. An IP Address is four numbers separated with dots and is typically a 12-digit number.

2 ) Do I need an IP to use for my site?
Once your domain starts resolving there is no difference between a dedicated IP address and a shared IP address. An IP address must be used only if you want your visitors to access your site via the IP number.

3 ) I want to get an IP. What should I do?
First you need to purchase the IP upgrade from the Service Upgardes section of your web hosting control panel.
Then inn order to get your authenticated IP address, you must go to the IP manager section of the Control Panel, which can be accessed from the main menu.
Click the Add new IP address button to get an authenticated IP address.
