 Post subject: require() and include() problem

I would like to use this two functions to include files on my website here, but they don't work properly.
I have to include two files into a "library" folder I create under my subdomain, and I refer to it in this way:

require('library\file.php');

What's wrong?

require('library/file.php'); '/' instead of '\'

\ is offline and / is online remember that

you will only find \ in places like my computer

and u will only fine / online (internet)
