Post subject: | another newbie stumped by Dreamweaver |
I have been trying to upload a site that I prepared with Dreamweaver. I followed the various forum topics - and still seem to be stumped!! The ftp host that the e-mail told me to use is elipye.freefronthost.com (I am using a free service) in the Dreamweaver box "host directory" I have tried: /www/ /www/elipye.freefronthost.com my username is elipye the e-mail told me that my path was /www/ I tried directly uploading a simple index.htm, and image using the file manager, and that worked fine. But I would like to get the Dreamweaver utility working for some thing a bit more complex. If this was a problem with a firewall, wouldn't I have the same problem if I directly uploaded the file? |

Searching through Macromedia's site, I found that there were some technical issues which could be fixed with update download. Downloaded the update (they even had one for the evaluation version!!!) and if I set the host directory to blank it worked. The file don't go exactly where I want them, but with the file manager, I can at least move them easily. Thanks for looking at my posts - this is a very useful forum ![]() |
