I noticed that directory and file access is blocked (500 error) when folders are inside folders at the root directory. For example /domain/folder is ok, but /domain/folder/folder returns a 500 error (along with anything inside th folder).
The permissions are 755 for folders and 644 for files. Any idea what the problem could be?

Thanks.

Hello,

There is no server side reason that could cause such a matter.
In general 500 Internal Server Error appeats when you have some misonfiguration in PHP, Perl, Python scripts or you have custom .htaccess file with directives not allowed on our end servers. Most common directives not allowed are all Options... or php_value, php_flag.
Please revise your files and try again. Otherwise open a trouble ticket from your account with us via Help > Opne New Ticket menu and provide us with the exact URL, where you have noticed the error message.
If there is anything else we can help with, feel free to write.

Okay I'm not trying to lash-out. :evil:
please tell me that efraschilla.com/cgi-bin/hahah.cgi
won't work even as simple as it is... :doubt:
I'm thinking something is wrong with my account.
do I have to upgrade to use perl/cgi?
and yes before you go a 500 error

I switched from a cgi back to pl and got a 403 Forbidden
so I changed the file permissions to 755 and once again recieved 500 error.
I also was looking at
/etc/perl
the server just hung for a while and then you know what error I got
500

===============this is what throws the error==========

#!/usr/bin/perl
print "it worked hahahaha";

=================end========================

I think cgi scripts need the content-type line like...

#!/usr/bin/perl

print "Content-type: text/html\n\n";

print "Hello, world!\n";
