Openoffice.org is good if you don't want to pay $150 plus. I don't know of any other alternatives that are free but it would be great to know what they are. :)

Ya I know your saying its not bad but lots of people don't know about this stuff. If you a newbie to all of this, it would blow your mind. I have found stuff that will blow your mind if you are paying for stuff while there is alternatives. If you check my Links Database section on my site, you'll see mostly open source/freeware. :)

I do mention Red Hat but I should change that from Linux Operating System to Redhat. Maybe I didn't mention Linspire because you have to pay for something to get something extra and also thanks for mentioning the others. I will probaly add them. I'll probaly add Linspire. Also, I need to get another hard drive before I add a Linux Operating System to my computer because I like running Windows for various reasons but I'm not against Linux though. My hard drive is low too. I have barely any problems what so ever with Windows and its thanks to some of the information I have came accross.

Edit: Red Hat name changed, and stuff added. :)

My friend tried to run Gentoo and had many problems. So, he stopped using it and he uses Fedora Core now.

Another link worth mentioning:
http://www.flos-freeware.ch/notepad2.html

Notepad 2 is a programmer's playground. It combines the simplicity of Notepad with the functionality of a dreamweaver-style syntax highlighting. The only tool I use to program since I was pointed to it. It is completely free.

Also take a look at Metapath and TextView which are linked to on the left. All are valuable developer resources that I would never code without now that I know of their existance.

I have always been fond of PFE 32 http://www.softlookup.com/display.asp?id=7658

It's got a lot of features, lightweight. I use it a lot when I need to do edits and leed to find line numbers or find specific code locations. It will create a backup of the changed file so if you mess up you can quickly revert back.
