Though still in beta, the 2.0 version of Yahoo! My Web is a more fully realized social bookmark engine than either del.icio.us or Shadows. It's similar to the former but easier to navigate, smarter about organizing tags and bookmarks, and accessible via a toolbar you may already have.
Indeed, if you're already using the latest version of the Yahoo! Toolbar (available for Firefox and Internet Explorer), you'll find the My Web button already there. Clicking it produces a pop-up window with fields for the new bookmark's title, tags, and note. (If you'd rather not install the toolbar, you can still save pages to My Web, but only from a Yahoo! search-results page.)
You can make saved pages available to all users, everyone in your community (meaning your circle of invited friends), or just you. Most impressive of all, My Web can store a snapshot copy of the page itself—insurance against lost information if the site's content changes.
My Web looks like most other Yahoo! properties: none too pretty and heavy on the blue links but better organized and more intuitive to the novice eye than del.icio.us. You can sort bookmarks by title, URL, or date saved; tags, by name, date, or popularity. There's also a cloud view for browsing tags—the only way, for now, to tap into other users' bookmarks. My Web's actual searches are limited to your tags and those of your community. Yahoo! plans to expand the search capability in a future release. In the meantime, a massive user base coupled with generally well-rounded features make My Web the best place to get social about your bookmarks.
