When I was trying to install Invision (IPB) I get this error:

500 Internal Server Error

I change the permissions of my php files to 755...

But the error appears again... and again :(

What can I do to install Invision Power Board :?:

Are there any .htaccess files in your IPB directory? If so, delete them (Note: You can only see them in the file manager, FTP hides them)

I've checked all my stuff for .htacsess files, but it still gives me the same error. Anything else I need to check?

No, dont delete the .htaccess. Deleting them will make IPB display as a blank page.

What version of IPB are you using ?..Check on the IPB website what server and server needs its compatible with.

This is a frequent issue I got with IPB 2.2.1

I constantly got a 500 internal server error when I reached the template installation stage.

Eventually I gave up and installed a previous version I found on my HDD, namely 2.1.7 and it worked like a charm.

So my solution is really, try another version
