 Post subject: phpBB Installation Problems
PostPosted: Thu May 26, 2005 6:13 pm
I'm making a forum using phpBB. I downloaded the files, uploaded them, made a new MySQL database, and everything was going smooth until now. I always get the "Cannot Connect to MySQL database" error after running install.php. I'm sure I entered all the correct fields, so what could be wrong? Here's a screen of the fields I entered:

Can anyone assist?[/url]

Hate to double post, but now I see that's not viewable.

Here are the database fields:

Database Server Hostname / DSN: 100webspacecustomers.com
Your Database Name: tgames_vincep
Database UserName: tgames_vincep
Database Password: ********
Prefix for tables in database: phpbb_

Please register! :D

1. You shouldnt get a can not connect to database when running the installation (install.php) file until after you push "INSTALL".
2. Is that what happened?

Someone smack me if I'm wrong, but should the "Database Server Hostname / DNS" be something like "cogia.net"?

On my accounts it follows the server it's hosted on.

Just a thought,

Your Database Name: tgames_vincep
Database UserName: tgames_vincep
Database Password: ********
Prefix for tables in database: phpbb_

Looking at the server name taht you have, I guess that you actually meant 100webcustomers.com, not the one you have typed.
