Post subject: Max allowed hits OR possibility to block requests?
PostPosted: Mon May 14, 2007 7:24 pm
Hello everyone

I own a domain which receives 1.336.240 hits per day.
These requests come from a distributed software which, unfortunately, I can't control anymore. I can't stop them.

My current hoster is threatening to kick me and I'm searching for a replacement because I don't wanna lose that domain.

The good thing is, the requests don't need to be answered anymore.
So if there is a way to block these requests (they come from a very small subnet), before they reach and stress the server, all would be OK!

Just drop them at the firewall and never answer them. Can 100webspace do this?

Thanks & Greetings,
Stu

I am afraid that such a traffic caused by this amount of hits on your page cannot be handled by a shared hosting server. I will recommend you to check for a dedicated server offer for your site.
